It's amazing how a few pillows can change the entire look of a couch. A quick and inexpensive makeover, that's what I'm all about. Anthony and I snatched this couch from Aaron's Furniture in Arizona. It was previously owned...(by a group of dogs, we're convinced). When we purchased this used couch for a whoppin' $250 (including the seat), we didn't sit/lay on this baby for about a week because we were too busy cleaning off all the dog/cat hair embedded between the stitching. It was nuts! Once we cleaned it off it was set to go. Anthony gradually grew to hate the couch day by day. He still had buyer's remorse 7 months after we bought it (and he still complains about it while fighting in Afghanistan today). I keep telling him to trust me...we don't have to "throw away this couch." So, 5 months later, I've finally gotten around to designing our house - starting with painting and moving on to give our couch a makeover. Slowly but surely our 1920s Craftsman Cottage is becoming "home."
So if you ever get tired of your couch or feel as if your furniture is doing nothing for your room, I highly recommend updating the look of your couch, specifically your pillows. It's such an inexpensive project that goes a long way - no sense in tossing your couch and spending $$$ on a new one! I purchased our two white detailed pillows from Pottery Barn and the rest from Kohl's. Easy.
Sidenote: I still have to add a throw to our couch to finish it off completely.
Next up on the house decor list: curtains! So Antonio, what do you think? :) Can we keep the couch?
