Brass

Last week my cousin's band, Buckshot Brass Band, got together and played a few numbers for the crowd. Everyone went wild.

My friends from Germany came over this week! We're off to Mt. Rainier in a bit - but first stop, Starbucks! More pictures to come! ;)

Instant Boost

Yesterday afternoon I had a portrait session with the Geneva Foundation, another amazing organization in the area. Before the shoot, I collected all my gear and started heading out the door. And then the sad truth hit me. I'm only 5'4'' (and a half), what if some of my clients tower over me...that wouldn't make for a flattering shot. So I packed up my little stool - you know, to give me an instant vertical boost. And it worked! Their shots came out great. :)

To all my vertically challenged friends, it's going to be okay. Pack up a stool and you're good to go! Have a great weekend!!!

Rest In Peace

I normally wouldn't post pictures of graves..well, come to think of it, if I blogged when I was 9 years old I would have posted my visit to Elvis' resting site because I'm in love with the King.   But back to the Lee's story. We were driving back home and came across the cemetery in which Bruce and Brandon Lee rest. My parents and I decided to take a little detour and try to locate their site...it's not easy. We spent about 10 minutes trying to Google some help..nothing really was of assistance. Until I got an idea. What if someone posted a video on Youtube visiting their grave? And sure enough that's what helped us find it.

Quick sidenote: I'm not a very superstitious person..(unless of course you have a fever, then by all means, rub an egg on your head and crack it in a cup on your night stand to get out the evil spirits inside you causing the fever. Or if I ever give you ojo..I apologize.) But back to my sidenote. While we were driving around, several crows were circling Brandon Lee's grave. Coincidence? I think not!

The First Starbucks

Note to visitors: If you want to experience the place where it all started - where Starbucks started, to be exact - visit 1912 Pike Place, Seattle WA. on a Monday. Not the weekend. I repeat. Not the weekend.  The line is sooooooo much shorter. On weekends, you can expect about a 30-45 minute wait for one drink. But thankfully, you'll usually be entertained while you wait. In our case, it was only a 5 minute wait while folk music graced our ears. Soon after, we happily walked out of Starbucks with one Grande Mocha Coconut frappuccino, one Tall Passion Fruit Tea, and one Tall Hot Chocolate. Extra whipped cream.

One last note: This is probably THE BEST customer service my parents and I have ever experienced. Hands down.

Seattle Public Library

Since my parents came to town I have become a tourist in my own city. I have a reason to go out and explore more. I hadn't visited the Seattle Public Library yet - but I am so glad I finally did. This place is a gem. This may sound a little off for a library setting...but it made me want to have a dance party there (it doesn't help that I'm listening to Benny Benassi on Pandora to give me this feeling). Have a look for yourself!
